The Boxes of Experience project offers an immersive and dynamic environment that enriches learning and exploration of the cinematic arts. By designing rooms around the intended experiences of users and incorporating diverse pathways that cater to varying levels of engagement, the institute fosters a unique journey through the world of film.
This project focuses on the design of a film institute and surrounding urban plan. The project replaces the current post office between the Pearl and Chinatown in Portland, Oregon.

Pathways linking the rooms vary: simple paths for new users and wayfinding, hidden passageways and nooks for experienced users, and mysterious pathways to draw the public in.
