La Rampla aims to heal the Sants neighborhood's split, enhancing community cohesion and creating pathways for foot traffic and development. Serving both as a bridge and a tech startup incubator, it utilizes its closeness to educational bodies to boost local economic growth, uniting the neighborhood through both physical and social means.

La Rampla

An office space in Sants, Barcelona, connecting two sides of a fractured neighborhood.

Site Context

​The building houses an incubator for tech startups, ideally located between four engineering and business schools.

​Trains are enclosed in a long above ground tunnel, unintentionally forming a barrier severing the Sants neighborhood in Barcelona, Spain.  La Rampla bridges the two sides of the neighborhood.

Concept

​The site is located at the intersection of three roads and metro station.

​The building is setback to bring daylight inside.

​Pedestrians can cross the barrier.
